Sonoraville High School Future Phoenix Soccer Camp Dates: Thursday and Friday May 27 and 28 Time: 9 am 12 noon... What: Sonoraville soccer will provide beginner to intermediate level instruction on soccer fundamentals in a fun and engaging environment! Who can attend: Rising 3rd-9th grade boys and girls Where: Soccer Field Dress: Shorts, Cleats, T-shirt and Shin guards. Please bring water and sunscreen. For the first time in school history, both boys basketball teams made the Region Tournament Finals. Congratulations is due to both teams with their Runner-up finishes. The Boys Varsity lost 36-40 in a tough fought final on Saturday evening. Top scorer for the Varsity Boys was Braxton Coats with 12 points. Others scoring were Elijah Woods with 10 points, Carter Triplett with 8 points, and Trevor Adams and Evan Johnson with 3 points each. The Junior Varsity boys lost 30-48. Eli... Balliew lead the Phoenix with 11 points; also scoring was Griffin Long with 6 points, Clay Worley and Chaz Pate with 5 points each, and Will Patterson with 3 points. It has been a great season for these young men. Congratulate these guys when you see them in the halls and in class. GO PHOENIX!

Congratulations to the RBMS Lady Phoenix JV girls for defeating the #1 seeded and undefeated, Calhoun Lady Jackets 44-23 in the BGMSAA JV Region Championship game!! This was a great team effort on both sides of the ball. Jazmine Hunter had a huge game scoring 19 points. Also scoring for the Lady Phoenix were Lila Mullinax-7, Hannah Bradley and Lakelin Hall-6, Izzy Goss-4, and Peyton Angel-2. Please congratulate these ladies next time you see them.

The Red Bud Cross Country team traveled to Cartersville’s Dellinger Park yesterday afternoon for their Region Championship meet. The Phoenix attacked the grueling 2 mile course with confidence resulting in numerous personal best times. The Lady Phoenix took to the course first, led by Yoslin Garcia with a time of 15:27 and Pippa McKinney with a 15:43. The Phoenix boys competed next being led by Clayton Haddox with a 12:31, and Evan Johnson with a 13:06. The remainder of the team finished one by one with many smiles as they realized they had set a new PR. The Coaches could not have been more proud of the team’s performance, and see a bright future for Phoenix running.
