Salem and our sister church, Hopewell UMC, held a packing party for Operation Christmas Child and came up with155 boxes that will help to brighten the lives of children all over the world. August 8, 2020 it took a long time being located under trees but it is finally looking good with one more D2 treatment.

For the past 3 weeks we have been meeting outside, bringing lawn chairs and enjoying cool breezes and birds singing during the service. This Sunday, June 21, 2020, is Father's Day....also it would be our annual homecoming celebration. For various reasons, we will have our regular service but we will NOT BE CELEBRATING HOMECOMING this year. It makes us sad but we must be sure we do our best to try and keep everyone healthy. Even Mr. Snake and Mr. Rat are practicing social distancing in their respective corners of Salem's outhouse.

In light of recent news and efforts to contain the COVID-19 outbreak, Bishop Sue has asked all clergy to cancel services through the end of the month. Therefore, Salem will not be meeting again until April 5. Take care and God bless.
