You heard that right, baseball fans! We’ve been given the green light to get back on the field! While things might look differently, some things stay the same- sharing our love of the game and having fun! Stay tuned for more details.

As your staff continues to wrestle through the ramifications of our social distancing protocol, we’re becoming more aware of the opportunities we have to make a...n IMPACT on others around us. While distancing ourselves physically is prudent, we can’t distance ourselves from ministering in the midst of these circumstances. With that said, we have sought to develop some avenues of ministry engagement and would like to share some of those with you. First, we want to meet the needs of those within our own church family. But how do we do that? Well, we need to become aware of those needs! And that is where you all come into play. We need you to communicate with us in regards to needs you may have so that we can assist in coordinating for those needs to be met when possible. Examples that came to mind as we have talked as a staff are as follows: 60+ year olds, or younger individuals with immune system struggles, may need items from the grocery store, but it wouldn’t be wise for them to venture into those locations due to the potential of infection. If made aware of that need, individuals from KSBC might be willing to do some shopping for them and drop the items off at their homes. Given the online learning curve that many parents are now experiencing, you may feel overwhelmed and inadequate as it pertains to your child’s schooling. If made aware of that need, individuals from KSBC might be able to provide assistance/insight for you that can assist you in navigating those waters. Of course, we don’t want to only seek to meet the needs of those within our own church family because we have been called to make an impact on the entire world for Christ. The church has a tremendous opportunity laid before her in these days. One that allows us to literally be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to our community. So, we also want to try and figure out ways of ministering to those in our society who aren’t connected to KSBC, or any other church for that matter. Again, the question becomes, But how? Examples that came to mind as we have talked are as follows: The Cobb County School District has an immediate need. With students no longer attending school on campus, many are in a position where food is not available for them. So, the CCSD is providing meals at various locations to students, but they need assistance in dispersing these meals. They have asked for volunteers to serve in this capacity. The time slots are limited in order to maintain the social distancing protocol among volunteers and the interaction is minimal as it is a drive-by service. So, if that ministry is something that interests you, please contact me (Jamie) for more details. Local food pantries are also in desperate need of items as more individuals are finding themselves needing to seek this service/assistance. We will be coordinating with Storehouse to see if there are specific needs that can be communicated to you all that would allow for you to purchase items and drop them off at the church. Those items could then be transported over to Storehouse to assist in meeting the needs. While these examples are not exhaustive, they are a start for us. As the days move forward, more avenues of service may open up. We will seek to keep you all informed of opportunities and allow you to engage where possible. Thank you, again, for the way in which you are being the church in these difficult days.

Serving children and families in light of Coronavirus / / Thank you to all those caring for vulnerable children and families. Your service matters greatly! With... concerns related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we encourage volunteers serving children and families to take steps that support a healthy community. In addition to following basic hygiene practices, please encourage your volunteers to acknowledge that those they serve will (1) have differing levels of concern about the virus and (2) might even be more vulnerable to infection than you know as a result of unseen health issues. Please communicate with the parents in the household you're serving about their specific needs during this precarious time. An open dialogue will help protect individuals and will be one more element of comfort to the family! Finally, please pray for protection both from physical illness and from fear. We, with you, trust God in all seasons!

In response to the rapidly changing healthcare environment we are excited to announce that we are now offering Telehealth appointments for all of our existing p...atients. We are taking every precaution in the clinic to make sure you and our staff stays healthy and we would prefer to see you in clinic. However, if you feel more comfortable staying home over the next few weeks you can now schedule a Telehealth appointment directly with your Physical Therapist. During the appointment you will be able to: -Discuss any symptom changes or updates in regards to your plan of care with your therapist. -Evaluation of new symptoms to the best of our ability over technology -Learn new self-treatment techniques and exercise progressions -Review home exercise program and modifications that may be necessary The appointments will be a 30-minute one-on-one session and will cost $70. Following a directive from Little League International, Smyrna Little League will be suspending the season (practices and games) effective immediately. We will continue to monitor the situation, track school closures, and solicit input from Little League International and Smyrna city representatives. As soon as we can resume the season, we will. SPRING 2020 REGISTRATION IS OPEN!! If you are new to the league you will need to create an account. Once you login - the system will offer programs that match your players league age. Remember that the Little League cutoff date is August 31st. So your players league age is the age they will be on August 31, 2020.
