Gainesville Spring Chicken Festival

After much discussion and deliberation, the city of Gainesville along with respected community partners is sad to announce it will not hold the 2020 Gainesville Spring Chicken Festival. COVID-19 has caused so much uncertainty in our community, as it has across the U.S., and organizers would rather err on the side of caution and cancel the event. We look forward to communicating face to face over good food and cold drinks soon. Until then, we wish you and your families health and happiness today and in the days to come. We WILL come out stronger on the other side.

It was organizers’ sincere hope June 20 was a conservative-enough date to hold the 2020 Gainesville Spring Chicken Festival. While our community continues to weather the storm that is COVID-19, we realize June 20 might be too soon to hold an event of this size. At this time, the Spring Chicken Festival is postponed until further notice. Please continue to check back regularly for timely updates regarding this event. We look forward to seeing all of your friendly faces soon, and wish you and your families nothing but good health and happiness during these trying times. There ARE brighter days ahead and remember we’re in this together.

Just a reminder that the Cook team meeting is tomorrow. This will be at Lake Lanier Olympic Park so you can get a feel for the logistics this year. If you are interested in participating, this is a great chance to come out and have any of your questions answered! Did you know there are NO FEES, the chicken is provided and you can take home the coveted Chicken Cup and cash prizes? There are a few spaces left, so if you want to participate, please sign up and/or come to the meeting!

Cook Team Reminder: The first of two mandatory cook team meetings is this Wednesday night at Lake Lanier Olympic Park. Getting ready to get those grills going! See you then!
