We’ve added another direct trade partnership we’re super excited to tell you about! If you’ve been in the shop over the last two weeks, chances are you’ve tasted it. This Guatemalan coffee has been pulling triple duty on drip, cold brew, and as an espresso component in a new blend! Finca Santa Margarita is a woman-owned coffee farm in Chimaltenango, Acatenango, Guatemala. This 4th generation farm started in 1838 by Thomas Wyld and is now owned by his great granddaughter Cam...ila Topke (picture five). The primary mission of this farm is to promote work for women, something near and dear to this woman-owned coffee shop. They’ve incorporated an elementary school on the farm property that serves the 75 staff kids and those of neighboring farms, enabling women to work and maintain a balanced quality of life. What an incredible gift. Finca Santa Margarita was severely impacted by the roya (leaf rust) outbreak in Guatemala a few years ago and lost a substantial portion of its harvest. Several years later and they’re still recovering. We’re proud to partner with a farm that has displayed such tenacity and dedication to recover from this devastation. Also, it’s delicious! Results are in and there was no coronavirus spread among our baristas. Happy to report all NEGATIVE results! We’re grateful to our staff for dispersing all over the state of Georgia for immediate result testing in order to open back up as quickly as possible for y’all. The entire shop has been sanitized for extra precaution. We’re ready to get back at it with confidence and peace of mind! See you Monday morning! We’re open 7am-6pm next week and will extend our hours a bit more soon.

For the health and safety of our staff and customers, we have closed the shop for the remainder of the week. One of our employees just received a positive coronavirus test. We have pin-pointed this employee’s exposure to a source outside of the shop and they have not worked in the shop at all this week. However, we have made the decision to remain closed while we contact the Department of Public Health for guidance and schedule a deep clean. We have requested that all of our ...employees get tested. We plan to re-open on Monday, August 3rd. This decision will be contingent on negative test results from our staff. Please check back on our social media pages for updates. We love you all so much and are deeply grateful for the incredible support you’ve shown our place over the past few months. Although it is not required that we close, we believe it is the safest decision for our community. Thank you for your understanding in this difficult decision. We’ll see you all soon. See more

Head’s up! We will be closed this Saturday, July 4th to give our staff the weekend off. They have bent and flexed and adjusted in more ways than we can count over the past few months, and I’m incredibly grateful for them.
