Happy Summer! As you're taking the time to relax and enjoy your break from work or school, it's important to stay healthy by keeping the following tips in mind: 1. Be active!... The warm weather is the perfect time to get active outdoors and get the whole family involved. Try exercising in the early morning or evening and, if possible, in shady areas, when it's likely to be cooler. Don't forget to drink enough water and stay hydrated. This is especially important when you exercise because it'll help your body sweat and cool down! 2. Eat right and stay healthy! We know that summer is the perfect time to enjoy an outdoor meal, whether that be a picnic at the beach or a backyard barbecue! However, warmer temperatures can easily spoil food, so make sure to cook food the same day as the outdoor meal (not in advance), which will give bacteria less time to grow. Wash hands, utensils, and work surfaces before handling food, and rinse any fruits or vegetables before cuttingjust in case bacteria is present on the rind or peel. Lastly, throw out leftovers that have been sitting out for more than 2 hours or, if the temperature is above 90 degrees, 1 hour. 3. Stay safe in the sun! Our final tip is to stay safe in the sun. Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays can put you at risk of developing skin cancer. When you are out in the sun, wear clothing and a wide-brimmed hat to protect as much skin as possible, and make sure to protect your eyes with sunglasses that block at least 99% of UV light. If you're exposing skin (such as when you go swimming), use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30. You'll want to apply sunscreen before swimming or sweating! By following the three tips above, you can be sure to have a happy AND healthy summer!

Cardinal Mermillod once said that "A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take." A mother's love truly is so special, and we are eternally grateful for everything all of the mothers in the world have done. To all of the mothers out there, thank you, and have a Happy Mother's Day!

World Health Day 2021 April 7 marks the celebration of World Health Day! Each year, the World Health Organization focuses on an important health issueranging from maternal and child health, mental health, climate change, and more. This year's theme is "Building a fairer, healthier world." Here's some more information from the World Health Organization's website:... "As COVID-19 has highlighted, some people are able to live healthier lives and have better access to health services than others - entirely due to the conditions in which they are born, grow, live, work and age. All over the world, some groups struggle to make ends meet with little daily income, have poorer housing conditions and education, fewer employment opportunities, experience greater gender inequality, and have little or no access to safe environments, clean water and air, food security and health services. This leads to unnecessary suffering, avoidable illness, and premature death. And it harms our societies and economies. This is not only unfair: it is preventable. That’s why we are calling on leaders to ensure that everyone has living and working conditions that are conducive to good health. At the same time we urge leaders to monitor health inequities, and to ensure that all people are able to access quality health services when and where they need them. COVID-19 has hit all countries hard, but its impact has been harshest on those communities which were already vulnerable, who are more exposed to the disease, less likely to have access to quality health care services and more likely to experience adverse consequences as a result of measures implemented to contain the pandemic." Happy World Health Day!

Happy Easter! Floyd W. Tomkins put it best when he said, "Let the resurrection joy lift us from loneliness and weakness and despair to strength and beauty and happiness." We hope that today is a time full of love, family, and good cheer. Once again, we hope you have a happy (or should we say hoppy) Easter!
