April 27, 2020 Lots of people took advantage of the beautiful weekend weather to come outside from behind their doors. I saw a lot of happy faces while walking in the park yesterday albeit 10 feet from my kids. The quarantine is weighing on our willpower to not enjoy our environs. The decision by the Governor of Georgia to open certain businesses last Friday has been discussed throughout the nation. Curiously, spas, tattoo parlors and bowling alleys were Gov Kemps's first est...ablishments to be selected to resume restricted operations. While I encourage everyone to continue to follow the national and local guidelines set forth for the pandemic, one wonders would it be wiser to focus not on which businesses open first but focus on the general health of the patrons who first frequent the stores? Should we not first send our healthiest citizens out in the environment and into public places to test the air? For example should not very healthy people say 57 and younger with an excellent health record and asymptomatic resume somewhat normal activities first? Two weeks or so go by with no spike in cases could open the door for a second wave of people who are older, 67 and younger, but who have excellent health history and are asymptomatic start resuming normal activities. If a few weeks pass after the second wave of little contagion should give the least healthy among us no matter the age to go out fully protected as possible and should take all precautions to avoid airborne viri. If the illness spikes at any stage we can shut down or scale back. Beating the Pandemic is a process but its the population we need to concentrate on not the places they might visit. See more

We are learning that it takes discipline and willpower to stay inside in order to abide by all the reasonable and intelligent safe practices laid out by the health officials and government leaders. We look forward to resuming our normal activities when it is appropriate: going out, restaurants, shopping, even transporting kids to school and all their activities. We are going to acknowledge that we have been taking for granted freedom of movement and just getting out of the ho...use. We are also going to realize that going to "Real" stores to shop and buy goods is fun and fulfilling,' something the internet can not replace. Consequently I foresee much pent up demand released. There will be lots of people in stores, handling the products and making purchases. It's the old saying, "you don't know what you have missed until it's not there." See you at Tucker Meridian very soon. I hope!

Tucker Meridian is proud to report that Scrubs and More, a medical uniform provider, is opening in Tucker Meridian in probably July. The suppler of medical scrubs and accessories including masks could not arrive at a more opportune time. We are seeing all hospital personnel, including Administrative, wearing scrubs and masks. Scrubs and More provides most major hospital groups with their protective clothing including Emory Health Care that is expected to open in the Northlake Mall repurposing. And by the way, Scrubs make for comfortable and attractive lounge wear for all of us who love to unwind at the end of a long day. So Welcome Scrubs and More to Tucker Meridian in Building B next to Massage Envy and across from Einstein and Hollywood Feed.

Im not on a lot of community sites so please share the below if you so choose. Corona is causing major hardships to our small businesses, and employees of the National stores who have been forced to furlow their employees. Most predictions project economic crises arising from the Pandemic to last at worst a few more months. We hope this is true.... We are very encouraged by the response to the Pandemic. In fact victory is in sight. If the crisis is over in only a few more months the world will have done something remarkable: to have defeated one of humankind's worst historical enemies, the scourge of transmission of viral diseases. Going back tens of millinea, to the early migrations, groups of people brought contageous diseases to inhabitants of lands. Entire populations would be destroyed sometimes only leaving artifacts and other clues that the area was once inhabited. We are all familiar with the Black Death epidemics of the Middle Ages, the Spanish bringing disease to Central and South America in the 15th Century, Europeans bringing flu and small pox to Indigenous people of North America, smallpox and cholera epidemics every summer, the flu epidemic of 1917. The US suffered 55,000 deaths in WW1. 45000 were as a result of the Flu. I grew up in the middle 50s, i vividly recall the fear created by the Polio Virus until vaccines by Salk and Sabin were developed. All these plagues wiped out entire communities and as much as 40 per cent of continents. If that happened in US now, 160 Million would die. We pray and offer our condolences to those who have died and will die but we are figuring out how to limit the damage. So don't dispair. Civilization with all our problems and prejudices continues to improve which is the key to survival. God Bless and lets all stick together, well at least stick together 10 feet apart for now.
