The UCHS Media Center started wreath-making yesterday as part of its makerspace initiative. Students had the opportunity to sign up to participate in the free workshop. Here are some of their creations. We would like to say a big thank you to Mrs. Sheila Crawford, who helped us get started with bow making and letting us use some of her supplies.

Due to COVID issues at Gilmer Co. the basketball games next week have been cancelled / postponed. We will let you know of any makeup information when it becomes available.

TSA members collected gifts for the nursing home patients for Christmas. We will deliver them next week with the Beta Club who worked with us to make gift bags for patients and workers. #unionunited

Four years ago, the Union County Rotary Club helped sponsor our UCHS Media Center publishing center. Since then, the UCHS Interact Club has partnered with students at the middle school in Sean Spade's 6th grade class to interview and write the stories of local community members to be published in our book, Mountain Roots & Relics. Normally, the project runs from February to May, but COVID-19 interrupted our schedule. We were able to finish our interviews and writing virtually, but finally the printed and bound books are ready to share with participants! They were presented today, and we are almost ready to kick off Volume 5 in February!
