The Athens Cultural Affairs Commission invites professional artists to submit a proposal and images of a public art concept for the Oconee Rivers Greenway (ORG) trail construction project in Athens, Georgia. The selected artist(s) will work with the ACAC and government staff to create public art that enhances the project and complements the selected site. What does that mean? In true Southern Gothic fashion, we have a well-loved ghost living right in downtown Athens. That's right - Morton Theatre is said to be haunted!! On October 11-12, 2014, the Athens-Clarke County Public Information Office and the Morton Theatre staff brought in a team from Ghosts of Georgia Paranormal Investigations to investigate strange occurrences that have been reported by numerous people throughout the building's history. ... The Public Information Office and a videographer documented the overnight investigation. Athens Ghost Hunt: The Morton Theatre, follows the team as they look for evidence of paranormal activity. Walker Park, Dudley Park, & several other Athens-Clarke County Trails and Open Space are cleaner this morning. We our volunteers and being a part of this event each year.
