"While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about" An amazing quote for us to think.

The most important thing to remember is that the time out is for you and all about you. Taking a time out should allow you to find a piece of yourself again so that the ‘Mom’ in you feels refreshed and ready to take on your parenting challenges again. How can you do that?... Know that it’s totally normal to need a break. Choose an activity that you can do by yourself or with your spouse or a good friend. It helps to be kid-free so that you can focus on recharging. Coordinate schedules with your spouse, a friend, or a sitter. Schedule these time outs at least once a month.

1. Be clear about expectations Proactively communicate with your boss or your employer that you have children at home. 2. Arrange activities that require minimal supervision. 3. Prioritise your tasks Plan the most engaging activities for your child, which they can do on their own during the time of the day when you need to be most productive. 4. Plan your meals the night before. Plan your meals and do the prep work like cutting and chopping the night before. This helps in en...suring you’re not using your productive day time in performing non-work tasks that require a lot of your energy, which can be better used at your desk. 5. Share your home responsibilities. 6. Create a workplace Try to find a space in your house that has a door which can be closed. Creating physical boundaries is important while working at home to help reinforce the message that you need to work and wouldn’t want to be disturbed. 7. Take small breaks Remember, children’s attention span is short. So, you need to break up your day’s work into smaller tasks to ensure you give your children the attention they need. 8. Reward good behaviour #apnannies #stayhomemom #staysafe If you are in search of a nanny and would like to find out more about our services please visit us at https://apnannies.com/contact-us/ Or call us at 877-550-3737 If you are a nanny looking for a job register with us at https://apnannies.com/nannies/ind

The Importance of Spending Time Together ***It builds children’s self-esteem. Children who spend time with their parents participating in activities together build a positive sense of self-worth. When children feel that they are valued by their parents, they feel more positive about themselves. Family activities don’t have to be expensive trips out to be meaningful, the important part is just being together. You could go for a bike ride or play a game together. ***It strengt...hens family bonds. Families who share everyday activities together form strong, emotional ties. Studies have found that families who enjoy group activities together share a stronger emotional bond as well as an ability to adapt well to situations as a family. Share your favorite hobbies, sports, books, movies or other favorite activities. ***It develops positive behaviours. Children and adolescents who spend more time with their parents are less likely to get involved in risky behaviour. #apnannies #familytime #staysafe If you are in search of a nanny and would like to find out more about our services please visit us at https://apnannies.com/contact-us/ Or call us at 877-550-3737 If you are a nanny looking for a job register with us at https://apnannies.com/nannies/ind

To make these windsocks we used: -Coloured card -Paint/marker pens/dot markers -Tape or glue... -Scissors -Gift wrapping ribbon (I got ours from the dollar store) -Hole punch -Pipe cleaner or ribbon The first task was to decorate the card. Use a combination of marker pens and dot markers. If you’re trying to complete this craft in one session then I’d recommend not using paint as we had to wait for to dry before we could continue. When the paint had dried, we turned the card over and attached long streamers of ribbon to one of the long sides of the card. We used tape for this because it was quicker and less messy than using glue! Then we curled the card round to make a cylinder and taped it securely. At the top of the cylinder we punched two holes on opposite sides, and threaded a pipe cleaner through to make a handle. The girls took them outside and turned them into dancing accessories the ribbons were fantastic as streamers! #apnannies #saturdayactivity #staysafe If you are in search of a nanny and would like to find out more about our services please visit us at https://apnannies.com/contact-us/ Or call us at 877-550-3737 If you are a nanny looking for a job register with us at https://apnannies.com/nannies/ind

1. Make New Exciting. Yes, it’s not as easy as it sounds. Children are often reluctant to try new foods, and tend to reject them right away. But, you can go a step further by with these easy tips. Serve small portions along with their old-time favourites. Give your child some easing-in time by allowing them to smell, touch and finger lick the new food. This will encourage them to taste, and maybe even appreciate it right away. Follow the same trick to re-introduce earlier rej...ected food items. 2. Meal Time is Family Time. The age-old rule of having family mealtimes is one of the best solutions to tackle fussy eating patterns. The reason being: Children often look at their parents or elder siblings as their role models. They tend to eat just like everyone else on the table. 3. Keep kids away from external distractions. In addition to fussy eating habits, today’s parents are often seen struggling with the concept of ‘screen-time’. This is the time spent by a child staring at mobile phones, computers and television screens. Exposure to such distractions causes the child to either overeat or under-eat. 4. Set Realistic Goals. Remember, when it comes to setting boundaries, as a parent, you shouldn’t worry about your child’s judgement. This is because drawing too much attention will encourage them to further misbehave. Here are some ways to keep your goals realistic but effective. 5. Avoid Empty Calories. Calories made only with sugar or fat are known as empty calories. This means these calories are not healthy for your child. These calories are often found in foods like biscuits, cola drinks, chocolates, ice creams and other junk items. #apnannies #mealtime #cookingfriday If you are in search of a nanny and would like to find out more about our services please visit us at https://apnannies.com/contact-us/ Or call us at 877-550-3737 If you are a nanny looking for a job register with us at https://apnannies.com/nannies/ind

Nanny´s guide to encouraging healthy eating. 1. Partnership Working: The main downfall of healthy eating could be the failed partnership with the parents. This is something you can discuss with the parents, especially at the beginning of the employment. It makes it much easier when you start your new job. 2. Involve the child in Planning: We all had one of those days, when you don’t feel like eating what has been prepared or eating at all. And that’s fine, children feel the ...same. 3. Involve children in Food Preparation: Children love to help with the cooking and baking. And we should let them, children will not only improve their speech, but also physical skills while mixing and pouring, problem solving and reasoning while weighing and measuring, their confidence and self-esteem improves and they are more likely to eat what they have prepared. As children grow, encourage them to help you prepare the menu for the week so they feel part of the choice, they will want to eat what they have chosen. 4. Sharing Mealtimes. Sharing the mealtime with the children should be strictly kept. Even if you are not having a dinner yourself, you should sit down with the children and share the mealtimes. It is all in the name, really. If you sit with the children, you create safe and secure environment where children will feel comfortable to share experiences from their day and their worries. 5. Managing Behaviour during mealtimes. We all strive to bring up well-behaved young people from the little children in our care. The best way to do this, is to be a good role model. If the children see that you behave politely and with good manners at the table, there is no need for the lengthy lessons and reminders, they will copy you instead. #apnannies #tipsforournannies #staysafe If you are in search of a nanny and would like to find out more about our services please visit us at https://apnannies.com/contact-us/ Or call us at 877-550-3737 If you are a nanny looking for a job register with us at https://apnannies.com/nannies/ind

Balloon Games! 1. Don’t Let The Balloon Touch The Ground: This is the classic game that kids fall for every time. The rules are simple hit the balloon up in the air but don’t let it touch the ground. To make it more challenging for older kids, have them juggle more than 1 balloon, or tie one hand behind their back. 2. Penguin Waddle: Place a balloon between your child’s knees and have them waddle across the room without dropping it. Make it more challenging for older kids b...y having them go around a few obstacles. If they drop it, they have to go back to the start. 3. Balloon Taps: Hang a balloon by a string from your doorway so it is a few inches higher than your child’s arm reach. Then challenge them to try and tap it with their hand. Count how many they can do in a row without missing (this gets tiring very quickly!). Up the ante by seeing if they can jump and touch the balloon with the top of their head! **Just a reminder that pieces of burst balloons can be a serious choking hazard, so if you have younger kids, make sure they are supervised during these activities at all times** #apnannies #balloongames #staysafe If you are in search of a nanny and would like to find out more about our services please visit us at https://apnannies.com/contact-us/ Or call us at 877-550-3737 If you are a nanny looking for a job register with us at https://apnannies.com/nannies/ind

The American Academy of Pediatrics discourages media use, except for video chatting, by children younger than 18 to 24 months. If you introduce digital media to children ages 18 to 24 months, make sure it's high quality and avoid solo media use. For children ages 2 to 5, limit screen time to one hour a day of high-quality programming. As your child grows, a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work as well. You'll need to decide how much media to let your child use each day and... what's appropriate. Consider applying the same rules to your child's real and virtual environments. In both, play with your child, teach kindness, be involved, and know your child's friends and what your child does with them. Also, keep in mind that the quality of the media your child is exposed to is more important than the type of technology or amount of time spent. #apnannies #screentime #staysafe If you are in search of a nanny and would like to find out more about our services please visit us at https://apnannies.com/contact-us/ Or call us at 877-550-3737 If you are a nanny looking for a job register with us at https://apnannies.com/nannies/ind

Mini Golf ! Have a look through the children's toys to find everything that you'll need to build a mini golf course! You could use pool noodles, rope and boxes to build the course, and keep score cards for a little competition between the children and yourself! A couple of coloured garden windmills will really finish the look, you can improvise to create golf balls and clubs with tennis balls or footballs, and badminton or tennis rackets. #apnannies #sundayfunday #sta...ysafe If you are in search of a nanny and would like to find out more about our services please visit us at https://apnannies.com/contact-us/ Or call us at 877-550-3737 If you are a nanny looking for a job register with us at https://apnannies.com/nannies/ind

Be Safe! Here are some useful tips for our nannies: * Wash your hands often, for at least 20 seconds (especially when you arrive at work and return home). Always use a separate towel to dry your hands (do not share a towel with any family members or the child you are caring for). * Maintain physical distance as far as possible with family members and others you are not caring for. * Limit going out in public places during your personal time apart. When necessary to go out,... keep a minimum of 6 ft. of distance between your family and another person. Avoid interactions with multiple people as much as possible. Stay home as much as you are able. * Place hand sanitizer at the door to use before exiting the home to lessen your germs going out into the world. * Wear masks when going out in public. When possible, take or provide a car to work instead of mass transit. * Do not touch your face, and kindly help children with this directive as much as possible. * Don’t share eating utensils, food or drinks; serve food to each person individually. #apnannies #tipsforournannies #safetyfirst If you are in search of a nanny and would like to find out more about our services please visit us at https://apnannies.com/contact-us/ Or call us at 877-550-3737 If you are a nanny looking for a job register with us at https://apnannies.com/nannies/ind
