We wrap up vet tech appreciate week with a shoutout to AAHS’ very own registered vet tech, Kaylee Kilgore . Pictured with her, we have students from Athens Technical College Veterinary Technician Program, learning the skills and techniques to do what Kaylee does! She recently graduated from the vet tech program in 2019 and has known shelter medicine is what she has wanted to do in life. She finds fulfillment in our clinic’s TNR program and helping the many feral cat colonies here in Athens. She spends her free time enjoying nature documentaries with her four cats , playing Sims , and sleeping . Who stole my heart ? Was it Mrs. White in the dog room with her cute looksErrr, or was it Lady Lavender ? If you wanna talk underdogs, then take a gander at our Clue Crew . They come with a tragic backstory... their owner lived alone and passed away quietly. Some undeterminable amount of time had passed before the family found out, let alone knowing about the existence of six dogs. They had some signs of starvation/neglect. One can only assume how long they’d gone with...out proper care. Regardless of their sad story, they came to us with the happiest attitudes. Happy to be seen, heard, petted, and cared for again . We’re looking for their #fureverhome, but we will learn more about any underlying health statuses, if any, before adopting them out entirely. While we wish we could provide each of you a Beasley, there is only one of him. Beasley | Age: 3 years The most gorgeous Shih Tzu just made his way to #AthensHumaneSociety! With heavy hearts, his owners had to surrender him due to unknown allergies to him. We feel so fortunate to be entrusted with rehoming Beasley. They had him less than a week but... fell head over heels immediately, and it’s easy to see why! They learned that he loved peanut butter, cantaloupe, and watermelon treats (avoid feeding seeds and rinds to dogs). Not only is he handsome but smart too, knowing commands like sit, come, & find your place.
