Spread some cheer with the Roswell Chief Elf!
This past summer, the Roswell Visual Arts Center had the pleasure of hosting an exhibit with work by artist Soude Dadras. Unfortunately, we weren't able to share her beautiful art with many people due to the COVID-19 epidemic. But we have made a special video so you can see it now from your own device! We hope you enjoy this tour of the gallery with the exhibit's own creator. In this striking exhibit, Dadras combines traditional handwork, found objects, and abandoned textiles to reference the human history, language, tradition, and culture based on her personal experience.
In response to the increased demand for yard waste collection due to the recent storm, the City is working to add trucks to the yard waste routes and asks residents for cooperation with the following: - Please ensure all yard waste meets the guidelines for collection, found here: https://www.roswellgov.com//environment/garbage-sanitation -2 cubic yards of waste will be collected each pickup. -Yard waste can remain at the curb until fully collected. No enforcement... actions will be taken in an effort to allow the collection of excess storm debris to catch up with demand. -Requests for extra collections will be delayed during this response process. The City asks that you remain patient during the storm clean-up and allow time for all affected residents to receive service.
Good afternoon, Roswell! As of this morning, it appears all traffic signals are working, and all roads are passable! City crews have been checking roads all day and will stay on-call to respond to any situations that arise. ... If you are aware of signals out or roads still blocked, please call the Police non-emergency line at 770-640-4160. (In an emergency situation, please call 911.) Please continue to drive with awareness and patience. Although signals are working, Zeta’s strong winds may have turned some detection equipment, and there’s the possibility of that causing longer wait times at some intersections. We are trying to address these issues as they filter in, and we will correct them as soon as possible. Also please be aware that crews will be continuing to pick up debris on sidewalks and on the sides of roads over the next several weeks. This process will take some time. Your continued patience is greatly appreciated!
ATTENTION: In order to remove a downed tree from last week's storm, Norcross St. between Fraser St. and Hwy 9 will be closed today from 10 to 11 a.m.
Voting tomorrow? Remember to double-check your polling place before heading out!
