Thinking of the Cobb Wind Symphony tonight as we would have just completed our first concert of the year, our annual Veteran's Day Concert. Please check out the... promo from one of our previous Vet's Concerts. Thanks to tuba player (and Lassiter grad) Dave Dawson for his excellent videography and editing. The piece is "A New Birth of Freedom" by Randol Bass. Enjoy. See more

Congratulations (and Happy Birthday!) to our Musical Director & Conductor, Alfred Watkins! Alfred was named Outstanding Bandmaster of the Year for 2020 by the Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity. Check out their updated website: https://phibetamu.org/outstanding-bandmasters/ Phi Beta Mu only awards one per year - past recipients are a virtual who’s who of the band movement. Alfred is the first Georgian, first high school director, and first African American... to receive this award. Congratulations (and Happy Birthday), Alfred!

This video montage was a part of our Cobb Wind Symphony Black History Month Concert yesterday. It played during the adagio section of Heroes by Ayatey Shabazz. Lassiter band director James Thompson and I collaborated on this one. Enjoy.
