Today in history: October 15, 1863 - Horace Lawson Hunley and crew of the Confederate submarine "H. L. Hunley" were lost on a practice run in Charleston Harbor, SC. This was the second sinking of the vessel. The sub was recovered and a third crew was lost after a successful mission in 1864.
