Congratulations to Karma who placed at the district Poetry Out Loud competition and is moving on to the State competition representing DSA. This is the third year in a row that DSA has had a competitor go to the State competition. Good luck Karma!

Mr. Harris delivers cleaning and disinfecting supplies to classrooms.

Congratulations to Zahra who was recently awarded the Georgia Youth Leadership Award, one of only six in the state! The award is given to nominated student leaders across Georgia by 21st Century Leaders, and they receive a $500 grant and have the opportunity to be mentored by leaders in other businesses and corporations.

We will have a different schedule next week due to President’s Day. We are off Monday, but will have classes on Wednesday. Tuesday and Thursday are odd days, Wednesday and Friday are even days.

Just a reminder, submissions are due next Friday (the 19th)! Calling all DSA artists! Check out this local competition open to students at DSA and other schools nearby in celebration of Black History Month! Contact Ms. G-Ruff with any additional questions. Submission due Feb. 19!
