Exciting news from Epstein! Just announced this week, Elementary School Principal David Welsher is now adding Associate Head of School to his name! Beginning this fall, @principalwelsher will serve as a coordinating chair for the principals team at Epstein while also managing the operations of the elementary school. We are so fortunate to have David’s leadership touch all corners of our school in this new role. Since his arrival in 2017, David’s influence within the Epstein community has been tangible and invaluable; his love and devotion to our students, our families, and our faculty and staff is extraordinary; and his sense of joy is truly palpable across our campus. David and his wife, Alissa, have a son, Henry, who is in The Monkeys class this year at Epstein the Welsher family truly embodies the heart of Epstein! Mazel Tov, David!

Yasher Koach (Great Job!) to Ryan Tritt for his fabulous in-school Bar Mitzvah today! As a second generation Epstein Eagle, the entire Tritt family is very special to our school community. This morning was a wonderful celebration of what makes Epstein so unique from his Torah reading to his D’var, Ryan demonstrated his confidence and his knowledge. Great job, Ryan! Three Epstein 6th grade students met via zoom with Sean Powers, the Head of Podcasting at Georgia Public Broadcasting on Friday afternoon. Why are these students meeting with a professional podcaster? They call themselves The Podcast Kids and have been developing their podcast since the summer of 2019. Last year in TILT, two students began a new podcast called Life on Neptune for their TILT technology project. The podcast features two kids who find themselves lost on the planet Neptune. The podcast competed in the State Technology Competition last spring! They have been further developing Life on Neptune with new episodes throughout the summer and fall. They have recently reached 6,000 listens!

Yearbook is sponsoring a photo challenge for ALL students. We are looking for photos of students and their pets. The deadline is November 11. Teachers and Staff are welcome to participate. Photos can be submitted by using the QR code or emailed to [email protected]

Last month, Gabi, one of our 4th grade students, was able to bless some of the Holocaust survivors with the sound of a shofar. She was featured in an article by JF&CS Atlanta. Gabi is the Great Granddaughter of four Holocaust survivors. We thank Gabi for making sure our special members of the community had a fantastic afternoon.
