EQiA condemns the systemic and cultural malevolence that is making violence, misogyny, and racial hatred more common, particularly among the women of our Asian American Pacific Islander community. Please read the full statement from AIA Georgia and AIA Atlanta at the link below. https://www.aiaga.org/aia-georgia-and-aia-atlanta-joint-st/ AIA is working with other professional organizations to bring understanding to our members of the tremendous negative impact of this kind... of hate, and to provide a direction for our collective efforts to make a difference in the fight against systemic racism and misogyny. However, much, much more remains to be done in AIA, our firms, our universities, and in our own hearts and minds. We invite EQiA and AIA members to reach out and advise us on what further we can do as a profession and equity organization to make the voices of the AAPI community heard. We're here to listen and support, AIA Georgia Equity in Architecture

Due to the pandemic, many women have been laid off or have had to step away from their full-time position to handle childcare. This is especially the case for women who are generally the default caregivers. We would like to help those in our community in these situations begin part time contract work or start their own business from home by offering three free subscriptions (for three years) for Autodesk Revit which would eliminate a large startup cost that some could not overcome during these times.
