This creative mixologist joined the Bar Margot team in 2019. Now that Bar Margot has reopened, she's back to pouring, shaking and stirring up some of Midtown's most popular sips that she creates with fresh ingredients and her seasonal favorites. 'I really missed being with my work family, but the time away was an opportunity to come up with even more cocktail ideas that I can't wait to add to the menu or have someone try when they approach the bar without something in mind,'... said Thandi. Thandi's favorite Bar Margot menu item is the Lobster Roll, a signature on the menu since Bar Margot opened in 2015. Her favorite cocktail pairing for the roll is a glass of sauvignon blanc by Villa Maria, a New Zealand winery.

Bar Margot is just days away from reopening for dinner service, so we took the time to ask our staff what they've missed about Bar Margot while we were all away in quarantine. Samri, a server in Bar Margot and an employee of the hotel for the past 12 years, says she misses the interaction with some of her regular diners and the conversation with the first-timers to Bar Margot. 'I really miss the overall vibe, especially on the weekends,' adds Samri. 'Bar Margot is the kind ...of place people visit and they stay a while.' When asked about her favorite menu item, 'it's the Crab Toast--hands down,' she laughed. But the popular server reminds us all of her signature tea, appropriately called "Samri's Tea," which is available upon request and is known as the perfect remedy for curing the common cold. Bar Margot reopens for daily dinner service on Thursday, June 25 from 5 -11 pm. Lunch service relaunches at a later date. Stay tuned!
