We are thrilled to announce that #HB146 will be signed by the Governor today! This new law will give eligible state employees, like teachers, 3 weeks of paid parental leave after the birth, adoption, or the foster placement of a child. We are very excited to take this first step towards achieving #paidleaveforall in Georgia, and we can't wait to see what the next legislative session has to offer.

Calling all volunteers! If you’re interested in our advocacy work or just want to learn more about what Georgia’s government is up to, join us this Thursday for Feminist Force! We’ll have some fun, chat about the legislative session, and take action to protect the right to vote!
As we wait for the final outcome of the 2020 US Presidential election, Feminist Women’s Health Center will continue to focus on two things: being here for our patients and deepening our movement building. No matter who the President is or which party controls Congress, our work remains the same: to hold our government accountable; to fight for our freedom; and to fight for reproductive justice. There is no scenario where we sit down and stop fighting for complete liberation,... because, regardless of which candidate is elected, we still have our work cut out for us. We are also going to continue to take care of ourselves and our people. That means prioritizing our patients, making strategic plans for 2021, and planning to relax on our days off. We know we need to be rested and taken care of in order to have the wellspring of energy and creativity needed to move forward and hold elected officials accountable on the local, state, and national level. So as election officials continue to count up votes, we are going to save our energy to look further down the road to the openings and opportunities for more comprehensive liberation. Please continue to stay with us. Please continue to support us.
Here’s 4 things to know this election day: 1) Did you have to vote a provisional ballot? Call your county board of election to learn how to make sure your ballot is counted: tinyurl.com/boardofelections 2) Was your mail in ballot rejected? Call your county board of elections for help: tinyurl.com/boardofelections 3) Having voting issues? Call the election protection hotlines for support in English, Spanish, Arabic or Asian languages like Bengali, Hindi, Vietnamese, Cantonese,... Tagalog, Mandarin and Urdu 4) Remember to take care of yourself today! #election2020 #thingstoknow #feministcenter
Although the recent Supreme Court appointment of Amy Coney Barrett might be discouraging, our communities are building power on multiple fronts and remain focused on our ultimate collective freedom. We know the Supreme Court has not yet reliably protected the rights of immigrants, of Black and Brown people, or of indigenous people. We know the Supreme Court has not yet prevented states from chipping away at abortion access. The truth is that courts don’t know what our communi...ties need: we do. Courts don’t fight for our communities: we do. No matter who’s on the Supreme Court, we will continue to fight for liberation on all fronts. These words from Assata Shakur say it best: It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win. We must love each other and support each other. We have nothing to lose but our chains. #amyconeybarrett #reproductivejustice #feministcenter

For 44 years, the Hyde Amendment has denied people abortion coverage because of their income and where they live. We are fighting for a future where abortion is accessible to everyone. Tell Congress to support the EACH Woman Act! Send a message to your US Representatives at https://tinyurl.com/endhydefwhc #BeBoldEndHyde
