The photo shows a void in a composite bathtub. A void is a manufacturing defect: it's an air bubble underneath the topcoat like the air bubble located at the large end of a hard boiled egg. You may only see a small crack or chip-like hole on the surface but the damage to be repaired is underneath the surface - we charge to repair the entire damage not just what is superficially seen on the surface. To determine if you have a void to be repaired tap on the "crack" like you're tapping a hard boiled egg. If a void is underneath the surface the topcoat will crack away like a hard boiled egg.
