A window in history through the eyes of our dearly departed W Brother Russ Mathuss:

Brethren, the roll of the workmen has been called, and one Master Mason has not answered to his name. He has laid down the working tools of the Craft and with them he has left that mortal part for which he no longer has use. Worshipful Brother Russell (Russ) Lamar Mathuss has been called from Labor to Eternal Refreshment. He was Initiated in July of 1949, Passed August 16, and Raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on August 23, 1949; served as WM of Stephens Lodge #586... in 1956; affiliated with Kennesaw Lodge #33 in 1961, serving as Chaplin in 2018 and 2019; and became a 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason in 1999. Please keep W Brother Mathuss' family in your thoughts and prayers while on bended knee. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna. Services will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 2, 2021, at Smyrna First Baptist Church, with military and masonic burial in Georgia Memorial Park. On Bended Knee: Please keep Worshipful Brother Russ Mathuss and his family in your thoughts and prayers while on bended knee, offering up devotion to the Supreme Architect of the Universe. WB Mathuss' health has deteriorated and was moved to hospice on March 20, 2021.
