Class of 1974

I am a little late in posting this but I am sad to say we have lost another classmate. Greg Railey passed away on May 16th, 2018. Prayers for his family.

Announcement From LaFayette High School Class of 1977 LaFayette High School Class of 1977 would like to cordially invite all LHS classes from 1970 - 1979 to attend a special family oriented tailgate event on June 23, 2017 at the old LHS track from 6:00 P.M. - 11:00 P.M. This will be a family-friendly event to reconnect former 70’s classmates. Bring your grill or your picnic basket and join us for this event. A vendor will be available for those who want to purchase food ...at the event. Tailgate Event: LHS Classes of the ‘70s Friday night, June 23, 2017 Bring your family and chairs and enjoy the past on the old LaFayette High School football field and track. BBQ can be purchased onsite or bring your own food/beverages. It is with much sadness that I post this, but we have lost another dear classmate. Denise Little Clopton has gone home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer. She was a great friend and will be missed by all. RIP Denise, we will see you again!

We have another classmate that has gone home to be with the Lord. Rickie Lynn Underwood passed away on October 7, 2015. My prayers are with his family at this time. R.I.P. Rickie.

Just a thought to throw out there to be thinking about. At the last reunion in September, we discussed our next reunion and what we would like to do. I thought maybe taking a cruise would be a lot of fun, and there would be no preparation involved beforehand, just show up. Lots of activities provided on the ship, and some excursions if we wanted to do that as well. This would be a 45 year reunion and we could even include some other classes since we were friends with most of them anyway. At our age, the numbers in attendance are going down somewhat so this might be a great way to go. Let me know what you think about this idea. I am all for it, cruises are not that expensive and could be a great vacation for us all!

I am sorry to say that we lost another dear classmate. Hill Morrison lost his battle with lung cancer this morning. He fought long and hard but I am so thankful he was able to be with us at our reunion. RIP Hill, we will surely miss you! Please be in prayer for the family.

1974 graduates we need some money coming in so that we know if we are going to have enough to pay for the facility as well as the band, not to mention, if you want to eat, WE NEED MONEY! Please get your money in to Denise ASAP! You have one more week to get your check to her. If we do not get enough response, there will be no reunion! On a positive note, we will have the Rambler car present for our pictures, and there will be door prizes as well, so hurry and respond to her by the 22nd.

Ok folks, here is the information you've been waiting on! Our reunion is scheduled for September 6th at Mtn Cove Farms Show Barn starting at 4 pm. We will have some outdoor games set up for those that might want to participate, or you can just mingle and catch up until time for the meal. JB's BBQ(our fellow graduate Joey "Bush" Middleton along with Joe Massingill) is providing our meal of BBQ Pork with 2 sides. We will furnish the drinks for the meal but if you want alcoh...ol you must BYOB. Common Ground will be playing from 8pm until 11 pm. The cost is $35 per person or $70 per couple. The deadline for sending in your payment with confirmation is August 22nd. Please mail your check to Denise Lindsey, 1578 Corinth Rd, LaFayette, GA 30728, OR if you are in LaFayette, you may drop off your check at Teems and Teems Realty in the drop box. If dropping off in the drop box please make sure you address it Attn: Denise Lindsey. Our next meeting is tomorrow evening at 6 pm at the LaFayette Recreation Ctr park, under the pavillion. Please plan to attend if possible. We need to get invitations sent ASAP, otherwise we are going to be having a 41 year reunion! See you there.

Our next meeting will be on August 5th at the LaFayette City Park on South Main St. We will meet at the tables in the picnic area under the pavillion at 6 pm. We are a little behind with the addresses due to an illness in Denise's family but hopefully we can get all the invites sent out next week.
