#PhilanthropicFriday Thank you to everyone that contributed to the Atlanta Community Food Bank Food Drives in November and December. Together we collected more than 6500 pounds of food!! #nonprofitlife #nonprofitorganization #SupportSmallBusiness #localnonprofit #foodbank #giveback
#TuesdayTip Did you know that we are now accepting flat glass? Flat glass is treated with chemicals and needs to be recycled separately from food grade glass. This includes window panes, glass tables, shower door glass and more! Bring us your flat glass!! #recycle #recycleglass #recycleresponsibly #hardtorecyclematerials
Another successful year of collecting trees for the Grant Park Boy Scouts! 88 and still counting. You do not need an appointment if you are only dropping a tree at CHaRM must be here by 1:30pm!
#PhilanthropicFriday The holidays are over, so now what!? Come support CHaRM and our local nonprofit partners by bringing your old electronics, laptops, tablets, coats, toys and more. We'll distribute them to our nonprofit partners to make sure that these items are given new life or recycled properly. Our Holiday Clean Up and Tree Recycling event is going on now through January 23. Come see us! #giveback #supportlocalnonprofits #nonprofit #nonprofitorganization
Just a reminder that we are now offering a limited home pick up service for select hard to recycle materials!? We are excited to announce CHaRM's Zero Waste Patrol Pilot Program! This is an effort to further expand and make our services more convenient. This initiative will offer home pickup services (in a limited area) for hard-to-recycle-materials. Currently, only zip codes 30305, 30309, 30318, 30324, 30326, 30327 and 30342 are included in our service area. Email us at [email protected] to let us know that you’d like for us to pick up in your area! For more information go to http://www.livethrive.org/pickup/.
#tuesdaytip Help keep your clothes out of the landfills! The U.S. alone sends about 21 billion pounds of textile waste to landfills every year. And sadly, only 10-15% of donated clothing actually ends up in the secondhand market. Bring your used textiles to CHaRM and we’ll donate it to America's Thrift Stores. So far in 2020, CHaRM has collected more than 63,000 pounds of textiles for America’s Thrift Stores!
#philanthropicfriday There’s still time to drop off non-perishable food items and toiletries for Atlanta Community Food Bank. You can drop these items at CHaRM through November 24.
#tuesdaytip Did you know that there’s more on your ballot to vote on than the representatives? Be sure to know what amendments will be on your ballot. Every vote counts! #vote #election2020 #atlantavotes
Love seeing the costumes at CHaRM today! Show us your costume!! #halloween2020 #happyhalloween #costume #halloweencostume
Hope that everyone has a very safe and fun Halloween! Don't forget to compost your pumpkins! #happyhalloween
#philanthropicfriday We’ve partnered with Atlanta Community Food Bank to collect non-perishable food items for their Thanksgiving Food Drive! We’ll be collecting from November 3-24. #foodbank #donation #giveback #atlantanonprofits
We sustained quite a bit of damage last night, BUT we are open today and ready for you! Any donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
#TuesdayTip Did you know that local shelters and food banks will recycle your bags of leftover Halloween candy? Take yours to MUST Ministries and they'll use it for their holiday Toy Shop program or check with your local neighborhood shelter to see what they are collecting!
#PhilanthropicFriday Did you know that so far in 2020, CHaRM has collected more than 110 musical instruments that have been given to our nonprofit partner, The Gift of Music Foundation? They refurbish used instruments and give them to local children who may not otherwise be able to afford them. #giveback #supportnonprofits#supportlocalcommunity #charity #nonprofit #atlantanonprofits #reuse #recycle #refurbish #music #musicalinstruments
#TuesdayTip We've mentioned this before, but definitely worth repeating! Here's a great way to understand which plastics can be recycled! If it's stretchy, clean, dry and empty, it can be recycled. If it doesn't stretch or crunches, it can NOT be recycled. #plasticrecycling #recycle #reduce #reduceplastics #recycleatlanta #singleuseplasticrecycling
#PhilanthropicFriday As a 501c3 non profit organization, CHaRM understands the importance of supporting other nonprofits. So...each Friday we will be highlighting one of these local partners. This week we're highlighting America's Thrift Stores. We take used clothes and textiles that are dropped off at our facility and repurpose as much as possible by giving to America’s Thrift Stores. They rely on the donations of the local community to collect used clothing and household... items. They resell those items and share their profits with local organizations like Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). Used textiles that cannot be resold are repurposed into insulation, dog beds or rags. So far in 2020, CHaRM has collected more than 63,000 pounds of textiles through America’s Thrift Stores. http://www.livethrive.org//charms-onsite-nonprofit-partne/
