Somebody tell me why! As you know, my kids and I own MARY PAUL'S COTTAGE in Ellijay, GA and that house has its own Facebook page. Its just a delightful God fearing and God praising cabin in the North Georgia Mountains. For the first time ever, I offered it out for rent to "test" the waters for weekend rentals. I gave a discounted price, gave a lot of extras, like early checkin and late checkout, free long distance calling, loads of DVDs and CDs for a guest to use and brand ne...w Ralph Lauren bedding. Now, someone left "dog poop" on my Mother's carpet and was careless when building a fire and burned two holes in the hardwood flooring at the fireplace. WHAT MAKES SOMEBODY allow that to happen? Two rental companies I'd met with told me that my house was TOO NICE to rent out and that folks would not respect it. I didn't believe them and thought that by having nicer things and more accouterments, that folks would actually treat the house better. Sometimes I simply don't understand folks. I really don't. Do you? I guess from now on, I'll have to insure that no one brings their dog, no matter how well behaved and no one can have a fire in the fireplace. Way too expensive to replace nice hardwood flooring! I am just so sad.
