End of School Bash this Saturday May 15,2021 for all Brantley County residents.

All Brantley County residents are invited to this years End of School Bash on May 15, 2021 from 11 am to 3pm at the Nahunta City Hall.

Republic who picks up the trash for the city residents is short on drivers and ask the residents to be patient as they work through this situation. They will pick up trash either today, Friday February 26 or tomorrow, Saturday February 27.

Update: The issues have been fixed and water is back on in the city. The city is aware of the water pressure issue in the following areas: Billy Street, Jason Street, Harper Street and parts of Paloma Steet. Water will be on as soon as possible. We presently have crews working on the situation.

We are aware of the water issue going on in the city right now with low water pressure . There is a fire at the pellet plant and that is causing the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The Nahunta Police Department is requesting kind donations of usable children’s toys this holiday season. The toys will be distributed by City of Nahunta Police Officers this holiday season. This is our way of giving back to our community this holiday season. states, Chief Matt Campisi. We call this ‘Operation Christmas Cop’. It is in the spirit of our savior, whose birth we celebrate. Toys may be dropped off at Nahunta City Hall Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00AM and 4:30PM. Questions may be directed to Chief Matt Campisi at (912) 462-5845.

If you live in the area of Paloma St., John Wilson St., and the Apartments by S&S Events, your garbage was not picked up today due to mechanical issues. Republic will be out on Monday 8/10/2020 to pick up your trash. If you have any overflow please bag it up and place next to the can and they will pick it up. Thank you

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE The City of Nahunta has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 9.29 percent. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at Nahunta City Hall located at 9911 Main Street North on Thursday August 20, 2020 at 7:00 pm. Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at Nahunta City Hall located at 9911 Main Street North on Thursda...y August 13, 2020 at 10:00 am and Thursday August 13 at 5:30 pm. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 11.75 mills, an increase of 0.999 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 10.751 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $60,000.00 is approximately $24.00 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $15,000.00 is approximately $6.00.
