We are very pleased to announce that Carey Harrison will be joining our staff as Videographer/Editor. Carey is a Georgia Public Broadcasting Videographer/Editor who we had the great pleasure to work with on both the award-winning Avondale Burial Place video and the Dixie Highway video. Those projects clearly demonstrated the power of video in conveying the stories of the work we do, and the addition of Carey to our team will allow us to expand our efforts. Carey will be su...pported by Anna Wiman, whose also worked with videos to create alternatives for public site visits on our current Coldbrook Plantation, Albany Transportation Center, and Chief Vann House/Springplace Mission projects. Cary will begin his tenure with New South on September 28th. He and Anna are already discussing future projects. We look forward to seeing what they produce. See more

New South has purchased Abby the Archaeobus from the Society for Georgia Archaeology. Abby has lived on our campus for a number of years, and while no longer road worthy, it can continue to be used for education and outreach to school age children. Abby is also an artifact of the social outreach in archaeology and is one of the most noted, award winning archaeology outreach vehicles ever created. Abby will continue to serve as a static museum when conditions improve, and social interaction is permitted again. In the mean time, Abby will keep her prime parking spot on our campus, and we are glad to be her permanent home. Dr Stefan Brannan, SGA President, is shown handing the title to New South’s President Mary Beth Reed.
