Learn how to find your way using the constellations. Learn all about tides and some tricks to predict the tide cycle just by seeing the moon. ... Learn all about the winter solstice and how it relates to holiday traditions. Kick off the winter season by learning some of the winter constellations. Be a witness to a planetary anomaly and see two planets at one time in the telescope for the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. Invasive species removal has been a focus in the last few years at Oatland. Recent storms created disturbed areas that invasive species can easily take over decreasing biodiversity and out competing native plants. In an effort to abstain from herbicide use in this wet area a mechanical control was used on this Chinese Tallow Tree (Triadica sebifera). Manual removal is ideal for this resilient species but on established trees this method was tested. Early results after 6 months show this method to be approximately 80% effective in the test area. #invasivespeciesremoval #chinesetallowtree #biodiversitree
