It’s always a good time to visit Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park, but this past weekend was extraordinary! These were taken on the Opelofa Trail, and you can see the Great Temple Mound in the distance. Come explore.
This weekend is the perfect time to get outside and explore Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park. Allow time to stop and read the interpretive signs along the path that tell the history of the people who once lived here. Don’t forget your camera! The Visitor Center is open Friday-Sunday from 9-5. The gates are open daily from 8-5.
The National Park Service has scheduled 2 virtual public meetings regarding the Ocmulgee River Corridor Special Resource Study: February 16 from 6:30pm-8:30pm and February 17 from 1p-3pm. During the meetings, the NPS will share information about the special resource study process, including the criteria used to evaluate a site for inclusion into the NPS system.
