We love when teachers take an idea and run with it. Checkout how Logansport FFA in Indiana turned our free Thanksgiving activity into an eye-catching and informative bulletin board. Last year, each student did the activity as written but we thought we'd switch it up this year! We plan to make it interactive in the years to come (attach the states with velcro so students walking by can move their favorite dishes onto the plate!) It's been fun watching students walk by an...d comment on how they didn't know certain states produce certain products. - Jennifer Fishburn #InformingTheirSchoolCommunity #ThePowerOfAg

Scored a new sticker for my water bottle. Going to the NAAE Conference for Teachers Turn the Key when I was still starting out made such a difference in my mindset and methods. #Representing #LoveAGoodOwlSticker #NAAE

Just in case you wake up tomorrow and don’t know why you teach Ag. This was found in a shop by a business owner. #SafetyIsNotSecond

One of the perks of being on our email list is that you find out about free stuff like our holiday meal commodities activity first. If you aren’t on our list, you can fix that by downloading State Your Plate today. (It works for the Christmas holidays too.) https://www.onelessthing.net//state-your-plate-holiday-mea

They don’t get it. Right now, everyone that isn’t teaching doesn’t get it. They don’t understand what it’s like to... ...send 28 emails (before school even starts) trying to answer questions about assignments. ...handle technology issues and connectivity problems (in the middle of a lesson). ...deal with logins and permissions and sign ons for forty-eleven children (not to mention their parents) during your break. ...figure out why your links aren’t working even though you already tested them several times. ...call parents and students between snarfing down lunch and chugging some caffeine. ...spend your evening recording yet another video for your lesson and hoping it’s simply the webcam angle that is making the bags under your eyes look like you’ve started prepping for Halloween already. Right now, nobody gets that virtual instruction, hybrid instruction, or face-to-face-with-the-possibility-of-going-virtual-any-day instruction is NOT the same as teaching. The students, parents, administrators, family members aren’t going to get it. They just aren’t. But before you throw your hands up or growl at the next person to stick their head in your door remember this: When have they ever understood? No, really. They didn’t get it when you ...spent your planning period picking up baby chicks or feed or mulch or wood stain or metal tubing ...came to the greenhouse on weekends and over holidays ...sorted fruit orders until late o’clock ...gotten your CDL over the summer so you could drive kids to contests yourself ...planned your family functions around a hoof trimming appointment ...squeezed in getting health papers before a faculty meeting Even spouses of Ag teachers don’t always get it. But they don’t need to. They see you showing up every day even if they don’t get that your day has been like a whack-a-mole game of technology issues. They see you doing the best you can even if they don’t know the scrambling and hoops you’ve jumped through just to have everything ready for a lesson. They see that you are still getting it done even though nothing is the same. So keep on putting out fires and hammering down nails and doing your thing. Nobody is better suited to handling craziness than you are. Keep on keeping on, Ag Teacher, and share this with anyone that needs a Monday boost.

Some teachers have asked if they can/are allowed to use our materials for virtual instruction and you may be wondering the same thing well, we’ve got answers for you. In short: Yes, IF it is password protected. For the more in depth version and answers to more specific questions, go here: https://www.onelessthing.net//faqs-using-one-less-thing-ma
