Little Reece has joined us for housebreaking. CUTE!!!
This is Daisy. She just started her Total Recall training. Unlike so many of the intro videos we post, Daisy is not crazy and out of control. In fact, she has some anxiety, and is therefore quite clingy. Training will help her gain some confidence. I'll record another video in a few days to show her progress.
Here is Chloe's "before" video. She is not even as bad in this video as she was when she arrived! But look for her "scratch-off" (scratching the ground after peeing) - one of the most impressive in intensity and duration that I've ever seen! She was a bit of a bowling ball on legs....indoors, she literally bounced off furniture - she had NO rules that she understood.
This is Chloe, a darling pit bull. This is her "after" video; I'll post her "before" video in a separate post. What is remarkable about this video is that I decide, on the spur of the moment, to have my handicapped sister, Donna, work her on heel, sit and down. While Donna helps me with many of the dogs, she has balance and timing issues, so she doesn't "train" very many of the dogs. But Chloe had been so responsive, I decided to see how she would do for someone else. Lik...e so many dogs that we see, Chloe came to us disconnected to humans (she loves people - she just didn't think it was worth her time to be tuned in to them!), pulling hard on the leash, and she had one of the most impressive "scratch-offs" (scratching the ground after peeing) I have ever seen! Scratching off is another sign that the dog is in business for themselves (Chloe no longer scratches off...), and when you put a stop to it, attitudes improve greatly. As you can see, Chloe is a rock star - proving that a properly trained dog responds to the commands, not just the person who trained them!
Another great email, this one from Boker's family. "We wanted to let you know how Boker is doing. All we can say is WOW!!!! When we first come home last week, we thought he is just tired and the real Boker will come out anytime now. It has been a week and he is just a pleasure to be around. He listens to us, me especially. He does not bite me anymore. He is even loveable and more gentle. Who knew! He comes every time he is called. He stay on place without fail, which is the ...best thing ever. The lady next door came into her back yard the other day, he was in our yard, I told him HERE, he came right to me and didn't run to her like before. I was so proud! He about scared her to death a few months ago. He does not bark, unless he hears something really strange. I take him to the shop with me, put him on place and he stays for an hour or so. He waits at the door every time until we say OK. He heels really good. We just can't thank you and your sister enough!! You are like the dog whisper!! Thank you, thank you!!" Boker just went home a couple weeks ago - he was the out-of-control chocolate Lab jumping bean!
