SLIME TIME Stretchy, gooey, sticky, colorful SLIME! It's slime time this week at St. Andrew's. Campers are making different types of slime using a variety of materials. This hands-on, interactive, educational, and fun camp is definitely a favorite.
St. Andrew's junior Gaby Van Brunt is a shining example of what it means to be a student athlete. Check out this article from Savannah Morning News. Congrats Gaby from all of us at St. Andrew's.
Welcome to the newest member of our football coaching staff. Harold Zion Edwards will serve as the Assistant Varsity Football Coach this fall. He brings 11 years of coaching experience to the team. Welcome to St. Andrew’s, Coach Edwards! #saslions
Coach Jack Miller joined the St. Andrew's community in 2006 as the head varsity football coach. He led the team to the state semi-finals in 2008. We send our love to the Miller family.
St. Andrew’s celebrates Black History Month
This week is National School Counseling week and we want to give a shout out to the best school counselor in Savannah...Elizabeth Bush. Much of the work of School Counselors is done behind the scenes, privately and confidentially. This makes observance of this national awareness week even more critical, bringing attention to the importance of supporting students in a holistic way. We want to publicly express our appreciation and gratitude for the tremendous work that Mrs. Bush does everyday!
Spotlight is on our St. Andrew's School students who selflessly are making a difference for Cancer Research by being a part of Students of the Year for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Savannah, GA. Kinnett Howard and Taylor Hamilton make up the "Stand 4 A Cure" Team and Caroline Kurinij co-leads the team "Answer for Cancer" together with St. Vincent's Academy students. Today is World Cancer Day and we appreciate the active roles these wonderful individuals play in the fight against cancer. Thank you for serving our community! #makeadifference #fightcancer #LLSSavannah
St. Andrew's Middle School in Action Seventh graders are starting their transition from Physics to Chemistry this week. Today’s experiment allowed the students to explore the viscosity of liquids to help them understand how molecules move within substances. St. Andrew's: Where Life Meets Learning!

Who Am I? Self-awareness building exercises like this unique self-portrait lesson in 1st grade helps our students learn a lotboth about themselves and their own creative potential. Check out these portraits, masks included!
ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST These students are creating architectural drawings of mid-century modern homes in art class with instructor Geoff Byrne. For this challenge, students are developing a plan and executing their designs. The next step will be the creation of 3-D mini replicas. Is it art? Is it design? Is it mathematics?

Ending the Semester with a Song The Lower School wrapped up first semester with a little song and dance. Thanks to Ms. Lonce for leading our youngest students in winter and holiday songs. Happy Holidays from all of us at St. Andrew's!
DISCOVERY DOME Maria Dixon challenged her design tech students to build a huge planetarium out of cardboard. The students first created small model prototypes to test their dimensions, cut out triangle shapes, painted them white, and fastened them together using rivets. Stay tuned next semester. The students will be adding a projector to the 8 foot wide dome, turning it into a real planetarium to view virtual worlds. St. Andrew's: where life meets learning!
Congrats to our own Stephanie Karian in the St. Andrew's Lower School. Check out the story on WTOC.

The Auction item for "Head for the Day" was celebrated this week: Ms. Chloe Krebs was in charge of Lower School on Tuesday and had a full day of huge responsibilities. From ensuring morning carpool went smoothly, declaring a no homework day for all of Lower School, having breakfast with first grade, ensuring everyone enjoyed a morning treat, enjoying lunch with her assistants, meeting with the Head of School to seal the deal on a Purchase Order, and inviting all LS to enjoy a Jenni's Treats on Streets at the end of a long day before organizing dismissal and carpool, it was a hugely successful day for Ms. Krebs and she was heard to say "this is hard work." #saintandrewssavannah #auction #lowerschool #headfortheday #greatjob

SWEET STRUCTURES Using colorful gumdrop candies and tooth picks, these budding engineers are building 3D geometric structures. The best part of this activity is how it allows children to think and problem solve to come up with a variety of solutions for the best structure.
