Dear Patients. I am back in my office on a limited schedule Mondays and Fridays from 9:30 to 5:30. We have reduced the number of people we see per day so that we can provide social distancing for patients while in the office. I will be masked and gloved. We also invested in a 1 micron Austin Air Purifier which removes particles greater than i micron. Of course we sanitize between visits. We ask that you wear some kind of face covering (scarves will do) and wash your hands wh...en you enter the office. Of course, please do not come if you have any flu like symptoms. We look forward to seeing you. Dr. Steven Saul

Why do some people test positive for Covid and have no symptoms and others succumb to the disease? I believe it has to do with your immune system and I have been encouraging people to do al they can to make sure their immune system is functioning properly. Adequate Vit D Levels, Vit C, Magnesium. Take a high quality, bio-avaialble multi, like the kind we carry from INNATE. Make sure your gut is healthy. Take PRE and Probiotics and eat good food. Avoid too much sugar. You kno...w the drill. If you need supplements and can't get to our office, we can have them shipped to you. Here is an article my mom sent me today from Mt Sinai hospital that says essentially the same thing I am saying here. With s much unknown and out of our control, what can we do? ANSWER: We can make sure our immune system has what it needs! Here is the excerpt.. "Here’s something that not everyone understands about COVID-19: When patients lose their lives to this devastating disease, it’s not because of the virus itself. People are dying because their own immune systems are going into overdrive. When someone is infected with COVID-19, his or her body launches a massive immune response to try to clear out the virus. This response is often called a cytokine storm. Cytokines are small proteins that modulate immunity and the term describes excessive inflammation in the body. Inflammation, up to a point, can be a good thing. Normal levels of inflammation help to stop the virus, but these cytokine storms take the inflammatory response too far. At their worst, they can cause organs to shut down leading to fatalities. At Mount Sinai, we’ve seen this hyper-inflammatory response to COVID-19 in about one in five patients. This happens in patients of all ages, with all kinds of medical histories. It’s not just about the virus itself it’s about what the body does in response to the virus"

3/17/20 Tuesday Dear Patients,... I have been struggling these last few weeks regarding the best way to proceed at my office and keep everyone safe. with regards to the Coronavirus. As you know, we have been implementing best practices like frequent cleaning, hand washing, limiting visitors, and masking. However, after much consideration, and after weighing all the potential ramifications, I am announcing that I will be closing the office after tomorrow Wednesday March 18th. My plan is to resume appointments again Monday April 6th and of course we will update you if anything changes. My personal cell number is (404) 784-7221. I am happy to provide advice while I am not in the office. This is going to be a very difficult time for many, if not most people in the months to come, but I believe the next 2 to 3 weeks will tell us a lot about what to expect. If you need any supplements, please consider picking them up tomorrow. Please let us know that you are on your way by calling us at (404) 252-0014, and we will bring them out to you so as not to overwhelm the reception area. We can accept payment via credit card over the phone. Stay safe and I look forward to seeing you all soon, and may the force be with us all. Sincerely, Dr. Steven Saul The Saul Clinic of Chiropractic

Dear Friends, You may have received similar notices from other establishments and we also wanted to communicate about how we are currently interacting with the health crisis of Covid-19 and plans for the future. Patient and community safety continues to be our first priority. We will continue wearing face masks and gloves throughout the treatment where appropriate. We are also performing additional cleaning of any contact surfaces in the treatment rooms plus door handles, ...light switches, furniture and countertops throughout the clinic. We will be leaving doors open weather permitting for fresh air. We are requesting that patients also adhere to the following guidelines: If you have any symptoms such as fever, coughing, shortness of breath, or have been in recent contact with anyone sick, please do not come to the clinic. Contact your primary care provider for instructions. We ask you to be considerate of other patients’ well-being or the health of our practitioners and staff by refraining from visiting our clinic if you have such symptoms. ALL TRAVELERS, especially international travel to and from China, South Korea, Europe and other affected countries must follow CDC guidelines and self-quarantine for at least 14 days before scheduling an appointment with us. Wash your hands often with water and soap for at least 20 seconds when you enter the office. Sing the refrain from your favorite song and you'll probably get about 20 seconds. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth Refrain from going to events with big crowds Limit all unnecessary travel We hope that everyone stays well during this sensitive time and we will update you again should the situation change. Thank you for being part of our community and know that even though this is a difficult time we will all get through it safely!! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office manager Jen

Coronavirus Info Hi. There is a lot of concern and advice regarding the coronavirus and what to do about it. Corona virus symptoms are flu-like, with cough, fever, shortness of breath and sneezing. If you have unusual symptoms, please contact your primary care provider. There is a plethora of practical information on the internet. (Washing hands, wearing masks, etc). Today, I want to go over some nutritional information that you may find useful and might like to research fu...rther for yourselves. 1. Make sure you are not low in Vit D. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with increased susceptibility to infection. Most people need about 5k units per day. 2. Vit C also has anti-viral properties. 2-3 grams per day when you have respiratory symptoms. If you get a loose bowel, back off it. 3. LDM is a very effective antiviral from Lomatia Root that I have used with great success for over 30 years. We always have some in our office. 4. Probiotics. The gut is the seat of the immune system. Make sure you get daily beneficial bacteria. 20-50 billion per day and if you have to take antibiotics you want to take 250 billion/day for 2 weeks following antibiotic therapy. 5. Elderberry. Elderberry is good tasting and has been shown to help with the flu. It blocks key viral proteins from entering into cells. 6. Magnesium. Zinc and selenium have also been shown to help the body fight viral infections. Most people are lowere in Magnesium than they realize. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 404 252 0014 and discuss. All the best, Dr. Steven Saul
