HORNETS WHO SERVE: We are celebrating the efforts of our alumni who jumped into action to help others during the COVID-19 crisis. Visit savcds.org/alumni to read more stories of Hornets who Serve. Kristina Train ‘00 On March 2, 2020, an EF3 tornado ripped through Middle Tennessee and destroyed a large part of our neighborhood, East Nashville. Most of us feel our quarantine began then. What we've been able to address in our immediate ‘musical family’ is a need that began afte...r the tornado, and has only increased during COVID-19: Food! Many in our musical community are straining to meet basic needs now, prioritizing housing above all, and leaving little to no room for anything else. I've never understood the meaning of the expression, "Bread before Bach" more clearly. In March, a good friend, and stunning violinist, mentioned he pared down to one meal a day to stretch his budget further. I started dropping meals on his doorstep. We put the word out, and now have a food drop registry, which started with musician friends, and has expanded outward into the community. There are many layers of need in our communities at this time. Individually, we can help meet a need at whatever level we are able. Collectively, it adds up. I have gotten to know so many more people in my neighborhood in the last few months. There are many who are separated from family living too far away to safely travel home. Part of the meal drop's message is to let people know although we are quarantined, we are not alone. See more
Perfect weather for the Middle School’s Paper Airplane Club to head outside. #ExploreEveryInterest #MiddleSchool #Hornets
The cast and crew of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" wowed audience members last night during its premiere showing. You have two more chances to watch the Upper School play (in-person and via our livestream channel), which follows the story of Christopher Boone, a 15-year-old boy who experiences the world around him differently than most people, and his investigation into the death of his neighbor's dog: TONIGHT at 6PM and tomorrow night (Saturday) at 7PM. For reservations, please contact DJ Queenan at [email protected].
AP psychology students, whether in the classroom or learning remotely, built and labeled models of neurons with materials of their choosing. We love seeing these Hornets’ creative minds at work while they kick off their study of the brain!
Ready, set, GROW!
Great afternoon for a campus 5k! Thanks to all the athletes, coaches and spectators for coming out for today’s Savannah Area Private School Cross Country Championship! #xc #SWARM

Our gorgeous gardens provide endless inspiration. The Brown Thumb Garden was the perfect spot to study two-dimensional design in second grade art class.
