Se celebra con hermosas pinturas faciales de calaveras que la mayoría de las personas en Estados Unidos usan como disfrazan para Halloween. Una de las partes más importantes son las ofrendas, altares individualizados diseñados para recordar a los seres queridos fallecidos. El altar captura fotos de seres queridos que fallecieron, cosas que les pertenecieron, velas, flores, calaveras, agua y juguetes para los angelitos. También colocan pequeñas porciones de sus comidas y bebidas favoritas del difunto. Emily, uno de los miembros de nuestro equipo, hizo uno.

A partir del 18 de Septiembre USCIS implementa una nueva ley para la ciudadanía de los hijos de miembros militares y empleados del gobierno de los EE. UU. estacionados en el extranjero. A partir del 18 de septiembre, la USCIS actualizó la sección 320 de la Ley de Inmigración y Nacionalidad (INA). Esta ley se promulgó debido a los nuevos requisitos de la Ley de ciudadanía para hijos de militares y funcionarios públicos. La nueva ley establece que a los niños nacidos fuer...a de los EE. This is law was put in place due to the new requirements of the Citizenship for Children of Military Members and Civil Servants Act. The new law states that children born outside of the U.S are granted automatic citizenship under INA 320, even if the child is not living in the U.S., as long as the child is a lawful permanent resident (LPR) and is in the legal physical custody of his or her U.S citizen parent that is : 1. Stationed and residing outside of the United States as a member of the U.S. armed forces 2. Stationed and residing outside of the United States as an employee of the U.S. government 3. The spouse residing outside the United States in marital union with a U.S. armed forces member or U.S. government employee who is stationed outside of the United States.

Una enfermera del Centro de Detención de Irwin, una instalación del Servicio de Inmigración y Control de Aduanas en Georgia, denunció una presunta negligencia médica. Un médico realizó "histerectomías cuestionables" en mujeres que son detenidas por ICE en el centro de detención del condado de Irwin. Según la enfermera Dawn Wooten y sus compañeros de trabajo, hicieron el informe después de darse c...uenta de que él "saca las cosas de todos. Esa es su especialidad, es el recolector de útero". "Everybody he sees has a hysterectomyjust about everybody." A nurse at the Irwin Detention Center, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Georgia, reported alleged medical neglect. A doctor preformed "questionable hysterectomies" on women that are ICE detainees at Irwin County Detention Center. According to the nurse, Dawn Wooten, and her co-workers, they made the report after realized that he "takes everybody's stuff out. That's his specialty, he's the uterus collector." If this happened to one of our clients at a detention center in another country, it would be a an asylum claim in the US! Performing surgeries and removing organs without a person's consent is a violation of BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS! This is another egregious example of how ICE does not value immigrants and continues to show complete disregard for immigrants lives. We demand justice for men and women detained by ICE whose rights are repeatedly violated, especially the victims of forced hysterectomies.

MEET OUR TEAM Alessandra... I was born and raised in Havana City, Cuba. My grandparents emigrated from Spain and settle their family in the Caribbean Island of Cuba; I grew up into the typical Spanish catholic family and Cuban rhythms. There I completed College and Undergraduate at the Faculty of Communications from the University of Havana. I decided to emigrate to the U.S in 2007 along with my husband. Attended Miami Dade College in Florida to achieve the English level required to succeed in the US. During this time, I began to see the needs of my classmates that asked me for help on USCIS applications. That set a sparkle on my passion for immigration and to help those who, like me, one day decided to emigrate in search of freedom. I found a new meaning to my vocation to help others and continued my education to later graduate of Paralegal Studies from the University of Miami, FL to be able to help professionally the wide Latin Community in need of a guide to reaching the American Dream. After UM graduation, I had the privilege to work for different Law Firms including Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Tax Law, bringing together experience to understand different aspects and how they affect Immigration Law. My specific areas of work include: Stay of Removal, Removal Defense, Consular Process, U-Visas, T-Visas, I-601A Waivers, I212 Waivers, DACA, Naturalization, Adjustment of Status, and Family Petitions. I have volunteer and participated in community events hosted by Americans for Immigrants Justice to help low-income families to apply for citizenship and learn about the value of their electoral Vote. Born in Georgia and raised in Alabama, Tanya enjoyed a wonderful childhood with her parents and two sisters, as they spent summers traveling and discovering history all over the world and the school year exploring North America, by visiting national landmarks and attending the theatre, opera, and symphonies throughout the country. This experience inspired Tanya to make a difference in the world. After graduating from law school, Tanya’s heart was drawn towards helping immigrants, one of this country’s most under-served and discriminated against populations. Therefore, she decided to move to Costa Rica to learn Spanish. After hundreds of hours of Spanish instruction and immersion, she returned to the United States and began working with the Hispanic population.
