Enjoy these photos of our Valdosta staff members on Pink Out Day! From wearing pink and thinking pink to throwing out the first pitch at a pink out game, our team went all out this month. As Breast Cancer Awareness Month draws to a close, we hope our posts have raised awareness of the importance of regular exams and early detection. Here's one last tidbit: Having yearly eye exams can alert your optometrist of other health issues. Metastatic cancers often present themselves in the eyes, at times before any other symptoms show up. While many of these cancers do not impair vision, the eyes can show a yellowish tinge, which alerts your optometrist of the possibility of cancer. Make sure to schedule your annual eye exam today!

Corin Kai is a three-year-old who was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. During his break between chemo treatments, he was shown an outpouring of love and support from his community which included a parade full of fire trucks, law enforcement and even characters from Paw Patrol! South Georgia | North Florida Eye Partners staff members were honored to be a part of this event alongside members of Pink Heals, Sylvester Fire and Police Departments, Worth County Fire Rescue and Worth County Sheriff’s Office. Halloween contact lenses can be a fun addition to any costume, but wearing lenses without a prescription from your eye doctor can potentially (and even permanently) damage your eyesight. If contact lenses are not fit properly, they can: Scratch your corneas Obstruct your vision . Cause corneal infections or pink eye . Suction to your eyes... . Cause blindness As you plan the perfect Halloween costume, remember to keep these things in mind; have a safe and fun weekend!
