Please note that we are implementing additional measures to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. We are making these changes so that you can enjoy the social distancing benefits of golf by getting out on the course as quickly as possible. One significant change we are making is to eliminate the sharing of golf carts. In order to do this, we will need to significantly reduce the number of tee times available, so we strongly recommend that you make a reservation, particularly for the weekend or afternoon. We will have special tee times available for groups wishing to walk, and we will have special 9 hole tee times available on Saturday and Sunday morning before 8:00. These times are not available online, you must call the pro shop to reserve them at 770-390-0424.

What is Steel Canyon doing about the risks of COVID-19? Because golf is an outdoor activity with built in social distancing, Steel Canyon has been able to remain open, although to protect you and our employees, we have implemented some operational changes which you should be aware of, listed below. Because we are open, we are fortunate to be able to continue to pay our employees their normal wages with no layoffs. However, many of our other local small businesses are not a...s fortunate, creating hardships for both the employees and owners. We encourage you to support local non-profits and businesses, including the following: Community Assistance Center - www.ourcac.org - The CAC helps residents of Sandy Springs and Dunwoody facing emergency situations meet the basic needs of food, shelter and clothing. The Sandy Springs Middle School PTO is collecting groceries, lunch supplies, canned goods, etc. to distribute families of Sandy Springs Middle School who are in need. The collection point is the Samad Grill - www.samadgrill.com - located at 8897 Roswell Rd (near Stars and Strikes). Please support other small businesses including restaurants and donate to other non-profit and religious organizations. Cash will no longer be accepted. Credit card signatures are not required. 2. We have removed water coolers and ball washers. 3. We have put in place enhanced cleaning procedures. 4. Please keep the flag in the hole when putting and do not touch the flagstick. 5. Bunker rakes have been removed 6. Pencils have been removed; please bring your own pencil, or use a phone app. 7. Food sales are limited to prepackaged snacks and drinks. 8. All golf carts are cleaned after each use, using sanitizer for the steering wheel and seats and arm rests. 9. We will not pair you with a stranger in the same golf cart. 10. We also suggest walking (which has the added benefit of a good workout) for a discount Driving Range 1. Driving range balls can only be purchased at the machine using your credit card or range card. 2. We have eliminated flags on the putting green and chipping green. 3. We have reduced the number of driving range mats, increasing the space between them. 4. Note that range balls are picked up, cleaned, and delivered by machine, there is no human contact with the golf balls. Before I flew back to DC from Atlanta, I decided to stay an extra day to see my old friend John Marshall. I know John back from my days in long drive and with ...Mike Austin and Dan Shauger. John played golf in college and is a 5-time World Long Drive Championship Finalist and was also the 2005 and 2006 ALDA Super Senior National Champion. Now-a-days he is teaching golf part-time at Steel Canyon Golf Course and is considered one of the best teachers in the state of Georgia. Kids golf for free! That's right, during the month of October, a kid under the age of 13 golfs for free with each paying adult! This is good at any time during the weekday and after 12:00 on weekends.

Wondering what's going on with the trenches on the golf course? While it may look like the gopher from Caddyshack, it is actually thousands of feet of drainage going into those spots that hold water. This will go a long way to minimizing or eliminating those "cart path only" days, plus helping the turf, like on hole #2! Great job Canyon Crew!

The bad news: We are aerating our greens on Monday and Tuesday, July 8 and 9. We will always have 9 holes available, so we will remain open.
