Here’s a great opportunity to get involved this Christmas season. For over 60 years, cities across Georgia have brought joy to residents in the Georgia Regional... Behavioral facilities through the Mayor’s Christmas Motorcade which was started by Governor Ernest Vandiver, his wife Betty Vandiver and GMA in 1959. Would you consider donating to the Motorcade? Many items needed can be purchased for under a buck and will greatly help the residents at the hospital. Here’s some suggested items: - Clothing: (the hospital residents are 80% men and 20% women) shirts, jackets, pants, gloves, hats, head wraps, ball caps, shoes, jammie sets, socks, sweaters, belts, watches, sports bras, underwear, sweat suits, fleece throw blankets, workout clothes, long skirts/dresses ** sizes: M-3XL, 34-46 waist, any shoe size. - Hygiene: full size or travel size body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, nail polish, unused makeup, sunscreen, tissues, baby powder, deodorant, hairbands. - Leisure: paperback books, but no romance novels!, DVDS, staple free magazines, craft supplies like glue sticks, glitter, stencils, stickers, Elmer's glue, canvas, paints, markers, crayons etc. - Board games, Wii Games, puzzle books, journals (no wire bound), fitness DVDs, card games, CDs, radios/CD players, headphones, basketballs, footballs, kickballs, volleyballs, corn hole, boccia, tennis. - Decorations: any extra Christmas décor, wreaths, ribbon, lights, wrapping paper, garland, plastic ornaments, unused Christmas cards. - Of course, we have to include decaf coffee, sugar free hot chocolate, teas, packs of sugar/cream.
