Here at the Georgia Tasting Room, our goal is to bring a taste of the South to locals and tourists alike with craft beer and local wines. In Savannah, we are lucky to have several craft breweries that bring that spirit to our town. We carry 5 of Savannah’s Breweries on draft at our store in City Market, each bringing a different beer, style, and quality to the Craft Beer Industry. In an effort to create a community with our craft industry, we will be highlighting each bre...wery and what they are all about on our social media platform. This week we will start with Moon River Brewing Company. Boasted as the oldest( and most haunted!) Brewpub in Savannah, Moon River was founded by two like minded individuals who wanted to create a unique restaurant and brewery experience for tourists and locals alike. With a varied past as a City Hotel, United Postal Service, a branch of the Bank of the United States, a lumber and coal warehouse , and an office supply warehouse, the building started its current journey as Moon River Brewing Company on April 10, 1999, when Gene Beeco and John Pinkerton teamed up to create a craft beer community and diverse restaurant environment. Currently On Tap at the Georgia Tasting Room, we have Moon River's: RIP Current Gosé with Tiki-inspired spices. A kettle-soured ale with hints of Pink Himalayan salt, hand zested citrus and assorted spices that will quench your thirst in this summer time heat. Grab a to-go cup at our store in City Market and stop on by to Moon River Brewing Company on Bay Street to fill a growler and grab a bite!
