BE PROUD FOR PRIDE AND SUPPORT BLACK LIVES The LGBQTIA+ movement did not begin at Stonewall in June of 1969. However, the riots and protests held there were a catalyst for awareness and change for the LGBTQIA+ community. The George Floyd Protests are empowering people to take a stand against deep seeded issues of Law Enforcement and Legislature, just as the Stonewall Riots did.... Pride Month this year will be a time for the LGBTQIA+ community to show support for black lives and keep the light on protesting police and state violence against black people. We will reach a hand out and offer what hope we can to our black queer and trans folks and to the black community as a whole. Your efforts are not unheard or unnoticed. Your voice supports the fight for your rights and embolden others to take a stand. Your actions demand accountability and change that will benefit ALL marginalized people.
