Let’s go play in the fresh air! In response to flu season and COVID-19, Adventures Up The Creek will continue to do what we've always done -- including spending as much time out in the sun and fresh air as possible. Because of Jen and my many years working in Firefighting and EMS, we already decontaminate and disinfect our gear after each use and take common-sense steps to limit or prevent the spread of any unwanted illnesses from one person to another. We will continue to ...follow the CDC's guidelines because they're simply good habits to use at all times to avoid contracting or spreading many of the illnesses that are around all the time. Fear and panic creates stress; and stress weakens the immune system. Sun and fresh air are good for your immune system and bad for viruses. For an example of "social distancing," see the pictures below. Our kayak paddles are over 7-feet long, which means that, even when you're paddling beside someone close enough to have a conversation, there's at least 6-feet between you. We also have Big Canoes for family outings (*For the next few weeks, Big Canoe trips are available only for people who live in the same home.) We urge everyone to be smart, practice good hygiene and be conscientious without giving in to fear and panic.

In case you thought that fence was protecting your dog...

This guy made a great video even better. This is what can happen when you use the wrong gear and/or have no idea what you're doing. Going out in deep water without bulkheads or float bags in your kayak can be dangerous. Not wearing a PFD (life jacket) while paddling is just plain stupid.
