Well, back to square one. No in-person meetings until the tri-county spikes come down. This also cancels Homecoming plans for this year. Families can decorate gravesites on their own but the church building will not be open nor will there be any service or picnic. We ask that you do not congregate in the cemetery outside of your immediate family and please maintain appropriate distancing. We hope to see you soon.
Unfortunately, with the new spike in COVID in Gilmer and Fannin counties, we have decided to cancel in person outside or inside worship services for tomorrow and will continue to monitor the situation on a weekly basis. We believe it would be ill-advised to meet even with our little group. Please continue to pray for those who have been affected by this pandemic in any way.
Weather permitting, we are starting earlier outside beginning tomorrow morning July 12 at 10 o’clock to escape some of the heat. Still safe distances and masks suggested. Next Sunday, July 19, will be third Sunday picnic weekend. Bring your own picnic lunch and drinks, no sharing other than family.
What a great start back to church, a backyard worship picnic. 15 of us gathered, prayed, praised, proclaimed, communed, broke bread, fellowshiped and enjoyed each other’s company today. See you next week in the backyard at 11:30.
Father’s Day picnic at the church Sunday at 11:30. Bring your own picnic stuff, we will not be sharing anything including the trash can. Bring your own crust of bread (or whatever) and juice (or whatever) for communion. You need folding chairs and shade (if you want) and set up with social distances in mind. Masks and hand sanitizers are needed as well. Don’t want any unexpected COVID-19 guests. Activities will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
Based on the strong suggestions from Bishop Sue and the cabinet, we will delay the opportunity to gather in fellowship until tentatively the Sunday following Mother’s Day, May 17. We will have a fellowship picnic following an open air service behind the church. We will break bread together in worship and enjoy each other still from a distance. Bring your own lawn chairs and canopies and spread out on the lawn. We’ll keep our distance yet sing and pray and hear God’s Word for our time and reunite in fellowship. Please come if you can.
The Lord of Hosts is with us in the fire and through the storm. He is faithful in every circumstance! Listen as Morgan, Gracey, Jordan, and Kirsten Tankersley s...ing "Psalm 46." The truth of this song and these young ladies harmonies will give you courage to face whatever challenges lay ahead. See more
