The Housing Authority has noticed that there is a large amount of household furniture, old appliances and debris being stored in front and behind the apartments. A member of the Housing Authority staff will be inspecting the outside of all apartments. During the August 15, 2017 HUD Technical Assistance review, apartments were noted to have unauthorized trampolines, swimming pools and various other outdoor play equipment. Outdoor play equipment creates a liability for the Housing Authority when not supervised and maintained. The Housing Authority's insurance carrier recommends the Housing Authority take action to protect the health and safety of the residents, the Housing Authority and the general public. In compliance with US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Final Rule RIN 2577-AC97, all residents and employees of the Flint Area Consolidated Housing Authority are subject to this ruling. Smoking is prohibited in all of its structures and within 25 feet of a Flint Area Housing Authority owned structure.
