Congratulations, C. Chappell, winner of the NJHS estimation station. Claudia’s estimate was only 4 away from the winning number of candy in the jar! She estimated 637 and there was 641 pieces. $201. 89 was raised for the Jerry Horne Enduring Spirit Scholarship Fund.

At BSS, we encourage all our students to follow their dreams, believe in themselves, and never give up. One of our students has been a great example of doing just that. Let me introduce you to A. Spisso. She is the kicker for our Varsity football team. She has scored 32 points this season. Recently I had the opportunity to sit down with her and ask a couple of questions about how she decided to take on this new athletic journey. Q- When did you decide you wanted to join the f...ootball team? A-" Well, one day, I was outside kicking and playing around with my neighbors, and one of them said I could never be good enough to be on the team, so I knew right there I HAD to do it." Q- Were your classmates accepting? A-" At first sorta, I mean they were nice, but not sure. I went to practice and kicked, and they were all like yeah, she can kick, let her play." Q- What pushed you to try out? A-" it was a couple of things. One was I felt very comfortable since I have grown up with most of my teammates since Pre-K. The second thing was my dad did it, so I wanted to do it and keep that going" Q- What is your advice to other students who want to try something out of their comfort zone? A- Be brave. Don't let others stop you! Just Do it! I was so nervous, and now it's one of my best decisions. See more

Throwback Thursday: the first pic was taken five years ago when our old rectory was being torn down, and the beginning of a new school dream was coming alive. Fast forward to 2020; the building is new and improved, and the friendships continue to grow. #believeinit
