The Biden administration announced today an extension of the federal eviction moratorium through June 30, 2021, and greater enforcement of the moratorium’s protections two measures that will help keep millions of renters stably housed during the pandemic and prevent further spread of and deaths from COVID-19.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT The McDuffie County School System announces the closure of Thomson-McDuffie Middle School from November 12 through November 29. The schoo...l will re-open on Monday, November 30. The closure was necessitated by the following: Two positive COVID-19 cases among the faculty and staff; A number of students in quarantine; An excessive number of students absent today; A significant number of students sent home ill today. INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS Face-to-face students will have paper materials sent home with them today. Any questions about assignments should be emailed to your child’s teacher. There are no changes for virtual students. MEALS Meals will continue to be offered as a grab-and-go program at Thomson-McDuffie Middle School. Breakfast is available for pick-up from 8:00-8:30 a.m. and lunch from 12:00-12:30 p.m. on the bus ramp. AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES All Thomson-McDuffie Middle School athletic practices and events are postponed during the closure. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work together to keep our students, faculty and staff safe during these difficult times. UPDATE: The location for the November 13 food distribution has changed. The distribution will take place at Thomson-McDuffie Middle School from 10 AM - 2:00 P...M. This is a contactless distribution. Recipients of food must remain in their cars. In addition, trunks must be empty and must be able to be opened. All boxes of food items will be placed in the recipients' trunks. Food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Eligible participants must provide photo ID and complete the Emergency Food Assistance Application Form available on-site the day of the event.
