Today Atkinson Elementary hosted a virtual STEAM Fair. Fifth grade students created slide show presentations to explain their thoughts of how Griffin could be a smart city. More GSCS teachers received their $1,000 Partners In Education Teacher Tuition Reimbursement Scholarships today. We appreciate these teachers continuing their education for the betterment of our students and system. Congratulations!
The superintendent visited Principal Ben Steele, AP Nicki Gore and the rest of the team of professional educators and care givers at Futral Road Elementary yesterday. On his look listen and learn tour Keith Simmons has been connecting with school leaders and community leaders. He is excited to begin the process of developing the new 5-year strategic plan soon as GSCS continues to work to serve students as effectively as possible.
Superintendent Simons visited Crescent Elementary today and it was Pinkalicious (Alycia Massey). He spoke with principal Amie Chambers, AP Perla Hoda, media specialist Rhonda Grubb, counselor Wendy Whedon and many more wonderful servant spirited leaders, educators, and care givers.

Reminders: Tomorrow, Friday, April 2, is an asynchronous Friday. All students will stay home and participate in virtual at-home learning. Next week, April 5-9, is Spring Break. All schools and offices will be closed.
Griffin-Spalding County Board of Education received an award for Exemplary Board Status from GSBA for 2020. The GSBA Board Recognition Program is a three tier process to achieve the highest level in board governance. The three recognition levels are Quality, Distinguished and Exemplary with Exemplary being the highest level. The Griffin-Spalding County School Board completed the required amount of training and met the other requirements to earn an award for the highest level of recognition. Congratulations to board members: R. Syntel Brown, Barbara Jo Cook, Will Doss, Zach Holmes and Sue McDonald.

On Thursday, January 28th, at 6 p.m., the Griffin Regional Educational Service Agency will conduct the GA Alternative Preparation Program for Educational Leadership Certification (APEL) Information Session Virtually from 6-7 p.m.
