Looking forward to talking on Tuesday, April 20th!
Is your baby distracted? Do they nurse for a few minutes pull off and play with something around them? This can be normal around the 4 months mark. Babies have become aware there is a world around them. And they do not want to miss anything. During this time offer to feed more frequently. Also if they se really hungry, but you just can seem to settle them move. Take them to a quiet darker space. Turn off the TV sound and make it a calm place. Sometimes using a blanket or nursing cover and help remove distractions. Your baby will eat when they are hungry. And they will make sure to grab enough food. Sometimes that may mean more nighttime feedings. But you’ve got this momma. Soon they will learn that it’s ok to stop and nurse!
Join the conversation. Our first meeting of April is Tuesday at 7:30pm. DM for the link or go to our Facebook page!! #breastfeedingsupport
Did you know some things could make it hard for baby to sleep? Here are some of those sleep stealers.
Is this behavior normal? Many moms wonder if their baby is getting on and off repeatedly if there’s a problem. This can be very normal behavior for baby’s who are nursing. Some causes of this are: it’s later in the day and your supply isn’t gushing like in the morning (neither is your energy ), maybe baby is trying to stimulate another let down for that fast flow of milk, or maybe they are fighting sleep and moving their head keeps them awake. Some tips for momma. Be patient... with baby. You can also teach them how to stimulate the breast my massaging around your areola with their hand. You can massage it yourself too. You can also offer the other side. What this behavior doesn’t mean is that your supply is decreasing. It does not mean your baby is starving. Sometimes especially if this happens in the evenings it just means you and baby need to take some time to cuddle and nursing helps relax both of you. See more
Does your little one struggle to get sleep? Here are somethings that might be influencing that. Also a baby who wakes up every couple hours to eat is a normal baby.
