Coming Up at 7: Polls Close in Six States At 7 p.m., we’ll start to get results from states that could actually give us a sense of where this thing is headed. ...Polls will close in most of Florida, where we have one of the most pivotal races of the night, and results from the state will start to roll in. Polls will also close in the rest of Kentucky and Indiana, and in four other states, including Virginiaa battleground state where Mrs. Clinton has an advantageand Georgia, a traditionally red state where polling has shown a narrow race in recent weeks. The last time Georgia went blue was in 1992, for Bill Clinton, but the margin was less than 14,000 out of 2.3 million votes cast. All told, the states whose polls close at 7 p.m. collectively have 64 electoral votes. At 7:30 p.m., we’ll see polls close in three more statesfor a total of 102 electoral votes including two key battlegrounds: North Carolina and Ohio, the nation’s biggest swing state after Florida. Most polls have shown him ahead in Ohio, so a loss there could signal broader problems. And if Mr. Trump loses North Carolinaa state Republicans won by about 2 percentage points in 2012a win for him in Florida becomes absolutely essential. Rebecca Ballhaus
